TriQuarterly
ABOUT
TriQuarterly was founded in 1964 as a print literary journal of Northwestern University and became one of the more prominent American venues for fiction, poetry, and essays over the following decades, publishing work by writers such as Robert Coover and Charles Simic during its long print run. In 2010 the magazine relaunched as an online-only publication, retaining its issue-numbering lineage (now past issue 170) while adding video essays and a rolling online supplement, 'The Latest Word,' that carries interviews, reviews, and craft pieces between issues.
The journal now runs on a twice-yearly issue schedule, labeled Winter & Spring and Summer & Fall, with each issue posted as a rolling set of individual web pages rather than a single downloadable file. The site's public pages give no visible information on submission windows, reading periods, fees, or pay rates, and no current editor is named on the pages scraped; poets interested in submitting should check the site's submissions page directly for current terms, as none of that operational detail is exposed on the front-facing archive and blog pages.
