The Kenyon Review

ABOUT

John Crowe Ransom founded The Kenyon Review at Kenyon College in 1939 and made it the house organ of the New Criticism, publishing Robert Lowell, Flannery O'Connor, and Randall Jarrell early in their careers. After a hiatus in the 1970s it was revived and has since broadened well past its formalist roots; recent editors include David Baker, Nicole Terez Dutton, and a masthead of working poets.

Kenyon Review reads submissions during a short annual window (typically a few weeks in the fall) via Submittable with a modest fee that supports its programs, pays contributors, and runs the well-regarded Kenyon Review Fellows program and summer workshops. Acceptance rates are famously low; response times run several months.
