ABOUT

Milkweed Editions is a nonprofit literary press founded in Minneapolis in 1980, publishing poetry, literary fiction, and nonfiction with a longstanding emphasis on ecological and place-based writing. Its list includes Robin Wall Kimmerer's Braiding Sweetgrass, National Poetry Series winners, and poets such as Ada Limón, Jake Skeets, Fady Joudah, and Erika Meitner; the press has grown from a scrappy regional operation into one of the most visible independent publishers of literary and environmental writing in the U.S., with curated imprints like Seedbank (world literature on place and ecology) and Multiverse (writing from neurodivergent and disabled communities, curated by Chris Martin). Daniel Slager serves as publisher and CEO.
