Poetry Coalition Fellowships
ABOUT
The Poetry Coalition is a network of more than thirty independent poetry and literary organizations across the United States that partner on shared programming addressing social issues through poetry; it is coordinated by the Academy of American Poets. Out of that coalition grew the Poetry Coalition Fellowships, a program that places early-career poets and arts administrators—often from communities underrepresented in the literary field—into part-time paid fellowship positions hosted by member organizations, giving fellows hands-on experience in literary-arts administration, programming, and community engagement while working alongside established poetry nonprofits.
Each fellowship runs as a part-time, paid position for a defined term at a host Poetry Coalition member organization, with the Academy of American Poets administering the program and disbursing a $20,000 stipend plus a health-care allowance to each fellow. The page for this specific program was not accessible at time of review (the URL returned an authorization error), so current-cycle details—application deadlines, required materials, number of fellowships offered, and which host organizations are participating in a given year—should be confirmed directly on poets.org or through the individual host organizations before applying, as these specifics can change from cycle to cycle.
