Hodder Fellowship
ABOUT
The Hodder Fellowship is a Princeton University award given annually through the Lewis Center for the Arts to writers and artists of exceptional promise—selected, in the program's own language, "more for promise than for performance." It brings five fellows to campus each year across disciplines including fiction, poetry, playwriting, composition, choreography, and visual art, for a residential academic year with no teaching obligations, intended to provide "studious leisure" for a significant new project. Recent poet-fellows include Jos Charles (2026-27) and Suji Kwock Kim (2024-25); other cohorts have included novelists, playwrights, composers, and visual artists, reflecting the fellowship's cross-disciplinary scope rather than a poetry-specific focus.
